Privacy Policy
Black Timber Outfitters
Effective date: September 14, 2026
1. About this policy
Black Timber Outfitters ("Black Timber," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information through BlackTimberOutfitters.com, inquiry forms that link to this policy, and our related hunt-planning communications and services.
Our website helps people explore guided hunting opportunities in Utah and Colorado and contact our team. An inquiry is not a confirmed booking. Our Terms of Service explain website use and communications; individual hunts are subject to their separate written arrangements.
Privacy questions and requests: Email josh@blacktimberoutfitters.com or call Black Timber Outfitters at (801) 891-5873. You may also use our contact page to find available contact options. Please identify your request as a privacy request.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you submit an inquiry, contact us, or arrange a hunt, we may collect:
• Your name, email address, telephone number, and other contact details you choose to provide.
• Hunt preferences, including animal or type of hunt, destination state, tag status, preferred dates, hunting unit, and weapon or hunting method if you include it.
• Your goals, experience, party information, questions, and other details you share about the trip.
• Booking and service information, such as confirmed dates, written arrangements, and the progress of your inquiry or reservation.
• Messages and correspondence with our team.
• Your communication preferences, SMS consent selections, and records of consent or withdrawal, which may include the date, source, form wording, and technical submission information.
Only provide information about other people if you have permission to do so. Our general inquiry form is not intended for payment-card details, government identification numbers, passwords, or detailed medical information. If a particular trip requires additional information, our team will discuss an appropriate way to provide it.
Information collected when you use the website
Our website, hosting services, and form or communications providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages or forms accessed, referring page, timestamps, and error or security logs. This information supports website delivery, form operation, troubleshooting, and protection against abuse.
Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies may support essential functions, session continuity, saved preferences, and embedded services. A third-party resource requested by your browser may receive technical request information needed to deliver it.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
• Respond to inquiries and discuss suitable hunt opportunities.
• Understand your preferences and prepare proposals or trip arrangements.
• Manage contacts, bookings, scheduling, and service delivery.
• Communicate about your inquiry, booking, and trip preparation.
• Send promotional communications when you have provided any consent required for that channel.
• Record and honor communication preferences, consent, and opt-out requests.
• Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and customer service.
• Maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable obligations.
Submitting an inquiry or providing a telephone number does not, by itself, enroll you in our SMS program. We use SMS according to the consent you provide and applicable law.
4. Service providers and other disclosures
We use service providers to support website hosting, form collection, customer relationship management, scheduling, and communications. Our inquiry process uses HighLevel/LeadConnector to organize contact information, form responses, opportunities, and communication preferences. These providers may process information for the services they provide to us.
When necessary to arrange or deliver a hunt you request, relevant trip information may be shared with the guides, outfitters, or other service providers involved in that arrangement. We limit disclosures to information appropriate for that purpose. Permission to coordinate your trip does not authorize a separate business to send you promotional texts.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect people or property, investigate misuse, or establish or defend legal claims. If our business is reorganized or transferred, ordinary business records may be reviewed or transferred subject to applicable privacy obligations. Any such transaction remains subject to the SMS protections below and does not create new marketing consent.
5. Mobile information and SMS consent
We do not sell or rent mobile numbers or SMS consent records. We do not disclose mobile information to other businesses for their marketing or promotional use. Text-message opt-in information and consent are excluded from sharing for those purposes.
Providers that operate our messaging or customer-support services may process mobile information only as needed to provide those services on our behalf. This limited service-provider processing does not permit them to use your number or consent for their own marketing. Disclosures legally required by a valid legal obligation remain subject to applicable law.
Your SMS choices
• SMS consent is voluntary. Our forms allow you to submit an inquiry without agreeing to text messages.
• Where offered, informational and promotional text consent are separate choices. Neither is preselected, and you may choose one, both, or neither.
• Informational texts may concern your hunt inquiry, booking details, or trip reminders. Promotional texts may concern hunt opportunities or special offers, according to your selection.
• Message frequency varies. Your wireless provider's message and data charges may apply.
• Reply STOP to the number sending our texts to opt out. You may receive a final confirmation of your opt-out. We will not continue the messaging program unless you provide fresh consent.
• Reply HELP to a program message for assistance, or email josh@blacktimberoutfitters.com or call (801) 891-5873.
Withdrawing SMS consent does not cancel a hunt or an existing agreement. We may still communicate through another appropriate channel about a service you requested. Additional messaging terms appear in our Terms of Service.
6. Cookies, preferences, and external services
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking cookies or similar storage may affect forms and other website functions. If we present a preference tool, use it to manage the choices it offers. Browser settings may not control every embedded service.
Links to wildlife agencies, social platforms, payment services, and other external websites are provided for convenience. Their operators control their own privacy practices. Review their policies before submitting information to them. A link from our website does not make an external service part of Black Timber.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to inquiries, managing services, maintaining business records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and our relationship with you.
We may retain limited consent, opt-out, and suppression records to document preferences and prevent unwanted communications. Records required for legal or accounting purposes may remain after other information is deleted. Backup copies may persist until they are replaced or deleted through normal retention processes.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it for an authorized purpose. No website, email, text message, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid sending sensitive information through ordinary inquiry fields or text messages.
9. Access, correction, deletion, and other requests
You can contact us to request access to or correction of information you provided, request deletion, or update communication preferences. Depending on your location and the law applicable to our business, additional rights may include obtaining a portable copy, restricting certain processing, or appealing a decision about a request.
Email josh@blacktimberoutfitters.com or call (801) 891-5873 and identify the request. We may need to reasonably verify your identity and authority before responding. We will not ask you to place sensitive identification details in a public form. Some requests may be limited by applicable law, the rights of others, or legitimate recordkeeping obligations. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain as required by law. You may contact us again to request review of that decision. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
To stop promotional email, use an unsubscribe link when provided or contact us. To stop texts, reply STOP. Essential service correspondence may continue through an appropriate channel when necessary for an active inquiry or agreement.
10. Children and international visitors
Our general website inquiry process and SMS program are intended for adults arranging services. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us regarding a minor's participation in a hunt. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information without appropriate parental involvement, contact us so we can review and address it.
Our business operates in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other places where they operate. Applicable privacy protections may differ by location; this policy does not waive rights provided by applicable law.
11. Policy changes
We may update this policy as our services, practices, or obligations change. The effective date identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. Updating this policy does not automatically expand an existing SMS consent or override a previous opt-out.
