THE DESTINATION
Mountain lion. A different mountain story.
Established in 2000, Black Timber Outfitters brings more than 25 years of outfitting experience to your hunt. Our Colorado hunts focus exclusively on mountain lion, with each winter pursuit shaped by sign, snow and access conditions.

Let’s build the plan.
Share your preferred dates and any license details you already have. Add your experience, party size and what matters most to you. Our team can discuss the next steps for a Colorado mountain lion hunt.
PLAN YOUR VISIT
Give the trip
a clear starting point.
Pass Colorado’s mountain lion exam.
Complete the required CPW Mountain Lion Exam before buying your license. Make sure your mountain lion certification is verified on your Colorado Customer Identification Number (CID). Plan ahead so the licensing record is ready before your trip.
Bring physical hunter education proof.
Pack your physical hunter education card. When hunter education is required, CPW requires you to carry the card while hunting unless your education has been verified and your license shows a “V.” Check CPW’s accepted proof and the current mountain lion brochure before traveling.
